Great for keeping the wind off the stove, but also acts as a heat reflector to keep you extra warm when cooking, or after cooking if you use the stove as a heat source. Very nicely made and a nice sleeve to keep it in.

Great when cooking over an open fire. I had this for a while now and works great. Fold neatly in its pouch (included). After a while, and due to the heat, some of the hinges do go a bit rough but nothing significant. Great product at a very competitive price.

Nothing worse than trying to cook outdoors on a windy day. This little fold down windbreak solves the problem. Th concertina style allows a range of configurations and there are two end pins to allow firm fixing to the ground, although I haven't yet needed to do this. There is good height to this wind break as well. They are meant to be light, so the panels are thin and will bend if abused. Edges are a little sharp. The bag is adequate. As a light windbreak which takes up little room, its a must have. It can make the difference between a thoroughly miserable long wait for a brew or a meal on a windy day or a quick, sheltered cuppa when you are frozen to the bone. All brands of this wind screen design are of similar quality, so go for a reasonable price point rather than pay for a name. This is good value for money.

Used this on a touring holiday around the Scottish Highland's. Very effective. Even though I had a wind proof burner, this heat shield help to focus the flame up onto the kettle and got the heat into it much more efficiently. It's solid and well made and most importantly it's dead simple to fold up and put away when you've finished. It even comes with a little sleeve to keep it in. I would say it is just about right weight wise, not too heavy, but not so light that it's going to blow away (kind of defeating it's purpose if it did). Have to say I didn't think I would need this, but in blustery windy conditions I could tell a lot of the heat from my burner was going straight up into the sky so in the end I was very glad I had this in my kit!

fragile sheet metal, prone to bending, works well in the sand but is more difficult in hard ground, you have to cover it with stones, in my opinion, it's not worth it, it's easier to build your cover

This is such a great addition to any camping stove. Many people think that you only need one of these if you have a cheaper stove and want to prevent it from going out... but actually this thing will improve the efficiency of any stove, regardless of how good you think it is. I use it not only for my firewood/alcohol stove, but for my pocket rocket as well. It'll improve the boiling time for your water and overall burning time in most cases, as it does not only shield off wind but acts as a reflector too. It's quite long at 24cm but very slim and compact when folded together, so you can slide it in between pretty much anywhere in your backpack. When unpacked it'll fit around your stove 360 style, or it can be used to shield off a larger region diagonally - very versatile piece of kit.
